A silk saree can last for generations with a little care.
Store it in muslin
Plastic traps moisture. Wrap each saree in a soft muslin cloth.
Refold it
Silk weakens along the same folds. Refold every few months.
Keep the zari dry
Zari dulls with damp. Air the saree after wearing before you put it away.
Dry clean only
Water can spot silk; leave cleaning to a dry cleaner who knows silk.
